Additionally it is good as a result of it permits the sprinters to practise being excellent. This is an attitude that must be valued. You can't do drills correctly (and effectively) unless perfection is pursued. My athletes do velocity drills as part of the warmup interval no less than once per week all year. The sprinters do them a minimum of twice. Each drill is done 3-6 occasions for four seconds. The Video Drills for Speed is a should-have if the Drills are to be learned properly. To develop the talent appears to take at the least three months of practise for most athletes to grasp. 1. Ankling - circular movements of the lower leg maintaining dorsiflexion. 2. Quick Recovery High Knee Running - they catch their leg early, carry it quickly up underneath, and keep their pelvis stable. Lift their knees as high as they will with out 'sitting'. They do these at various speeds, sustaining good form, which suggests no further bum out or sitting, and protecting their ft dorsiflexed.
